About Speaker
Dr Kristin Alford is a futurist and the Founding Director of MOD. – an award-winning museum of discovery at the University of South Australia. She is the lead author of Cultivating Futures Thinking in Museums, which features case studies from future-oriented museums and the FORMS network. Kristin collaborated with the World Health Organization’s Western Pacific Regional Office to build foresight capability, culminating in the Museum of Health Futures. Previously, she founded the foresight agency Bridge8, building futures capability in sustainability, emerging technologies, education, and health. Kristin was the inaugural licensee and host of TEDxAdelaide and lectured on foresight at the University of Adelaide. She holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Queensland and a Master’s in Strategic Foresight from Swinburne University. Named one of the Top 50 Female Futurists by Forbes and a Blooloop Top 50 Museum Influencer for 2024, she is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Association of Professional Futurists.
