Developing Governance Frameworks Around Emerging Technology

What is the Fourth Industrial Revolution?

The first Industrial Revolution ignited at the start of the 19th century. The advent of the steam engine changed the nature of manufacturing, and re-ordered society along the way.

Now, the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) is the current period of rapid transformations across industries, societies and nations catalysed by technology, connectivity and automation. Just like the original Industrial Revolution, 4IR is having profound consequences on every facet of our lives – how we work, play, create and consume.
