Jan Oliver Schwarz is a Professor of Strategic Foresight and Trend Analysis at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Ingolstadt, Germany, and heads the Bavarian Foresight Institute. His work specializes in strategic foresight, particularly strategic foresight processes, trends and weak signals, scenario planning, business wargaming, cultural products (e.g., science fiction), and design thinking. He holds degrees in management from the University of Witten/Herdecke, Germany, futures studies from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, and a PhD from the Berlin University of the Arts, Germany. He is a member of the Strategic Foresight Network at the World Economic Forum and has published widely on strategic foresight. His most recent publications are Strategic Foresight: An Introductory Guide to Practice and Robust Leadership.
