Suaad Al Harthi is a conservationist, National Geographic Explorer, and the Executive Director of the Environment Society of Oman (ESO), the nation's leading environmental NGO. She spearheads programmes that promote environmental awareness, scientific research, and conservation. Suaad has been instrumental in advocating for key species such as the endangered Arabian Sea humpback whale and the critically endangered loggerhead sea turtle. Previously, she managed coral reef and coastal zone management programmes at the Environment Agency in Abu Dhabi. Suaad is a 2024 National Geographic Wayfinder Award Recipient, a TEDx speaker, and was named Oman Woman of the Year in 2019. She holds a Master of Environmental Management Degree from Duke University.
