Matt is head of Artificial Intelligence Law at Gowling WLG and a partner in its international IP team. He is General Editor of The Law of Artificial Intelligence (Sweet & Maxwell) and co-author of the chapters on IP. He advises household name companies and government departments on AI. Matt is a leading expert on the legal considerations and best practice for the training and use of AI, including ownership of IP in outputs, vetting base models and datasets and mitigating risks such as IP infringement, privacy and confidentiality.
