Dimitri Lorenzani
Cabinet of Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefcovic, European Commission
Dimitri Lorenzani is a member of the Cabinet of Maroš Šefčovič, European Commission Executive Vice-President for the European Green Deal, Inter-institutional relations and Foresight. In the Cabinet, he is responsible for strategic foresight and industrial policy, with a focus on critical raw materials and coordination of the European Battery Alliance; he also deals with economic affairs and the European Semester and is member of the Recovery and Resilience Facility Steering Board. Since 2023, Dimitri Lorenzani is also visiting Professor at the College of Europe in Bruges, where he currently holds a master’s course in digital industrial policies for the academic year 2023-2024. Previously, between 2020 and 2021, Dimitri was Team Leader for strategic foresight at the Secretariat-General of the European Commission, coordinating the implementation of the institution’s foresight strategy. Previously, between 2011 and 2020, he worked in Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (ECFIN), where he led the team of economists dealing with Italy’s macroeconomic and fiscal surveillance under the Stability and Growth Pact. Dimitri holds postgraduate (Master) degrees in economics and finance (Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies of Pisa) and in EU affairs (Vrije Universiteit Brussel).
