The Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) organized a breast-cancer awareness seminar at its headquarters in Dubai’s Jumeirah Emirates Towers in collaboration with Natalia Hassani, Founder of Positivity.
The event is part of both organizations’ social responsibility activities and marks the international Pink October initiative or breast-cancer awareness and prevention month.
The seminar featured a team of breast cancer experts who educated participants about the disease, its symptoms and early detection. The experts reaffirmed the importance of breast cancer awareness for both men and women, urging their audience to undergo regular screenings and medical checks, all the while offering advice for a healthy lifestyle that reduces the risk of developing the disease and underlining the importance of moral support from patients’ family members and friends.
DFF’s Vice President of Corporate Services Azzah Al Sharhan said: “This breast cancer awareness and prevention seminar reflects the Dubai Future Foundation’s commitment to its social responsibility and to giving back to our community. The event aligns with the Foundation’s dedication to raising public awareness, spreading knowledge and encouraging scientific studies and research.”
“The seminar reflects the importance of partnership and collaboration in combatting the disease,” she added. “Direct communication channels must be established to raise awareness about its symptoms and to educate the public about early detection, which significantly increases the chances of treatment and reduces mortality.”
Meanwhile, Positivity’s Natalia Hassani said: “Cancer is one the many challenges that life has given me. Now that I have regained my energy, I’ve decided to start choosing my own challenges while putting into practice all the skills & tools that I’ve learnt through my life experiences, yoga trainings and mindfulness practice”.
