Bo Viktor Nylund
Bo Viktor Nylund has served the most vulnerable children and families across the world since 1994. He currently leads a diverse team in tackling the questions of greatest importance for children. Through research and foresight, UNICEF Innocenti drives change for children, sparks global discourse and engages young people. Before October 2022, Bo Viktor served as UNICEF’s Representative in Syria, reaching nearly 12 million people in need, and using advocacy to open unprecedented opportunities with both Government and non-state actors. Since joining UNICEF, Bo Viktor has worked in Bangkok, Bujumbura, Colombo, Damascus, Geneva, Khartoum, Nairobi and New York, and focused on child rights and protection, corporate social responsibility and humanitarian policy and planning. He previously worked with UNHCR as a protection officer. Bo Viktor has master’s degrees (Columbia University Law) and a PhD (Geneva Graduate Institute for International Studies).
